The Book.

 Hey friends,

      So, as I’ve been talking “jobs” with people, and they’ve been asking me what I’m doing and what I’ll do when this temporary position ends. Oddly, the same question keeps resurfacing: “What about that book you were writing? When are you going to finish that?”

     Ah…the book. The book that is not even a book yet, but I talk about it like it’s done. I can’t believe people remember my book! That is too cool! The fact that people are talking about it is really exciting.

      Here’s the latest: I am still writing. The novel is 27 chapters long, and was chugging along like the Sante Fe Express when BAM! The Block happened. I used to scoff and say that The Block was a myth. NO. I scoff no more. The Block is real, it is hateful, and there is no immediate cure-all for it. Crap.

     I blame The Block on November of last year. All writing (blog, novel, etc.) came to a screeching halt while I dealt with life-lint (kind of like bellybutton lint for your life…nasty). I tried, but when I’m dealing with big stuff in my life, my writing either gets better or worse. This time it just got worse, so I put it all down. Now that Jesus is starting to untangle the knotted mess that was me last year, I’ve started writing again. I can’t be sure when it will be finished, but I am shooting for August.

      So, that’s the good news! And I have no bad news, so there you go! Thanks to those of you who have been keeping up with all book and writing related stuff. Love ya.
